Believe More And You’ll Do More!

By Carrie Hogue

Thumper Dumper...Whether or not you believe in yourself is what’s going to determine what you’re able to achieve in your life. Notice the people around you that you think are the most successful and what you will see is that the individuals who believe and think that they aren’t worth much are the ones who don’t receive much. You’ll also notice that the people who believe they’re worth more are the ones who undoubtedly get more.

This is a very simple way to look at things and has great implications for you in your own pursuit of success. If you fill your mind with big thoughts and believe big then you will be shifting your mindset to one that’s ready to receive the success you know you deserve. This is no time for playing games though, you’ve got to have a sincere, honest belief that you can be successful in order for it to work. Simply going through the motions without the belief is like trying to paddle a canoe with no paddles…it just doesn’t work. On the other hand if you do truly believe that you can accomplish more then you will.

Now belief isn’t something that just happens naturally and as a matter of fact we are exposed to lots of different messages everyday from the news, magazines and even our friends and family that can easily derail our belief system. In order to grow your belief in yourself you’re going to have to strengthen your belief so that it is impervious to these outside messages.

3 Simple Ways to build your personal belief system:

1.) The first step is all about programming your mind right. You’ve got to think more about success than you do about failure. Think about this the next time you’re out, wherever you are and try replacing failure thinking with successful thinking. The next time you are facing a challenge instead of thinking that you’ll probably lose think instead that you’ll win. When you find yourself competing with someone don’t think that you’re outclassed, think instead that you’re at least equal to the best. Whenever an opportunity comes your way don’t think that you’ll probably fail like we often do, think instead that you can do it and feel it with enthusiasm. It’s not easy at first but you need to focus on allowing the thought pattern of triumph and successes dominate your thoughts. The longer you do this the less the negative thoughts will show up. You’re mind is going to be conditioned according to the thoughts that you produce so why not make the effort to ensure that the majority of them are good?

2.) Successful people are not super heroes; I’ve never seen any of them wearing a cape anyway. You’re not any different from the most successful people that you know, you just have to remember to keep reminding yourself that you are more valuable than you think you are. Being successful doesn’t require a super high IQ score nor is being successful a mystery or a matter of luck. Yes, some people get lucky but that’s not a good recipe to base your success on. Super successful people are just regular folks who have developed a strong belief in themselves that they can be successful. Never sell yourself short or tell yourself that you’re not worthy.

* A strong belief in yourself doesn’t happen or is it overnight but here’s a visualization to use to help you build your belief stronger. Think of your mind existing solely as a factory to produce thoughts, countless thoughts per day in fact. This production factory has two foremen in charge that are incredibly loyal and answer to you immediately with the slightest little mental beck and call. One of these foremen is geared toward success so he’s called Mr. Success. The other foreman is happy only when you’re not and he’s responsible for the negative thoughts so we’ll call him Mr. Defeat. The more work you decide to give either one of these foremen the stronger he will become. If you give Mr. Defeat more work than Mr. Success then he will add staff and begin to take up more and more space in your mind until he takes over the whole place so the only intelligent thing to do is to fire him! You don’t really need him anyway. Whenever a thought enters your mind try to call on Mr. Success one hundred percent of the time and he will be able to show you how you can be successful in that situation every single time.

3.) The last thing in developing your belief is to make sure you believe big. It’s true, the size of your success is determined by the size of your belief. You can think little goals and expect little achievements or think big goals and win big success. Remember that big ideas and big plans are often easier and well, they’re certainly no more difficult, than small ideas and small plans. The bigger you think the more it will open your mind and your life up to receiving more.

One last tip for you to help build your belief system: Every day before you get started or as you get started take a moment and look in the mirror and say, “Every day in every way I get better and better.” You’ll be amazed at how your mind will start to give you examples to make this true!
